He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Harrison and Peggy Jo Pettit (Stephens); his sister Mary Jo King; his great grandchild Jacob Rainey; and his brother-in-law Curtis Roberts.
He is survived by: his former wife Carolyn Sue Cox; his children, Bill Pettit (Stacy) of Gallatin, Mark Pettit (Heidi) of Jamesport, Sherri Smith (Chance) of Gallatin and John Pettit (Renay) of Gallatin; and his siblings, Kenneth Pettit of Gallatin, Alice Webb (Larry) of Gallatin and Cynthia Kay Roberts. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
