He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Bright and Lillie Bell Sides Bright; and his siblings, Joe Bright, Marie Bright and Louanna Jackson.

He is survived by: his children, Joe Carden of East Prairie, Mandi Bright Stevenson of East Prairie, Meshell Bright of Houston and Chanda Jones of Murray, Kentucky; his siblings, Jessie Bright of Anniston, Missouri, Geraldine Byassee of East Prairie and Allene Jackson of East Prairie; and his former wife Sherrie Minor Bright of East Prairie. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
