He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Watson and Ethel Watson (Grace); his son William Watson (Willie); and his brothers, Jerry Watson and Robert Watson.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Johnson-Watson; his sons, Rodney Watson (Sherry), Dwayne Watson and AJ Watson; his brothers, Ted Watson (Jeanie) and Fred Watson (Mae); and his stepchildren, Curtis, Craig, Jeff, Tressa, Harold and Sherry. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
