He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Strickland and Georgia Strickland (Barnes); his wife Ellen; and his siblings, Marie Cunningham, Edna Strickland, Doris Copeland, Peggy Meggison, Robert Strickland, Johnnie Strickland and Roger Strickland.

He is survived by: his siblings, Dale Strickland (Sharon) and Judy Gillam (Jim); and his pets, Peanut and Jasper. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and family and friends.
