He is survived by: his children, Michael, Sherri Polys (Joe), Joseph and Steven Sims (Samantha); his grandchildren, Amanda, Allison, Sarah Polys, Evelyn and Jack Sims; his great grandchild Camryn Brock; and his siblings, Vincent "Bud" Sims (Sharon), Mary Kay Flynn (Patrick) and Carol Schuler (late Stephen).
