He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold and Lorena; and his brother Kent Schafer. He is survived by: his wife Sue Schafer (Nowaski); his daughters, Eileen Bader (Andreas), Lisa Harmon (Scott) and Jennifer Hill (Scott Gardner); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth Bader, Kristopher Trgovich (Natalie), Matthew Trgovich, Sarah Harmon of Joey, J. D. and Juliette Hill.
