He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clifford Dressel Mesker and Margaret Patton Mesker; his wife Cecile Hariett Blankenship; his sons, Douglas Michael, Stephen Glenn (Stacy), Robert Christopher (Tonya) and Daniel Lewis (Jennifer); and his foster daughter Goldie Miller (Ronald).
