She was loved and cherished by many people including: her son Walter; her parents, Willie Cloyd Carter and Ova Lea Boyer; her siblings, Del Carter of Gulf Shores, Joseph, Lillie and David; her children, Martha, Dan, Joseph and Elizabeth; her husband Earl Evans; her niece Tonya Carter; her son Joe; her stepchildren, Don Evans and Roxanne Evans Pettit; her aunt Viola Boyer Crites; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Amanda Highers, Hannah Alleman, Skylar Doerwaldt, Joseph A. Alcorn, Ryan and Delia Alcorn; and her great grandchildren, Kaleb Lewis, Diego Rios, Joaquin Rios, Adrian Lewis and Josephine Alleman. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other extended family.
Family suggests that donations in memory of Virgie be sent to the Ellsinore Pioneer Museum.
