He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Emmitt Newby and Ileta Viola Brown; and his daughters, Terry Turner and Tania Newby. He is survived by: his children, Larry Taylor Newby of Ironton and Tina Pabin (Leonard) of Salem; his grandchildren, Whitney Pruitt (David Aguilar), Danny Pruitt (Lindsey) and Mackenzie Ray (Mitchell); and his great grandchildren, Hollan Pruitt and Aylen Corley. He is also survived by his family and friends.
