He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorraine Baker and Naomi Baker (Luke); his wife Nola "June" Payne; his stepson Martin Payne; and his siblings, Elizabeth Hirte, Larry Baker and Robert Baker.
He is survived by: his children, Monika Deatsch of Lakeville, Minnesota and Mark Baker (Jackie) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Julie Whitehair, Jessica Serrano, Rachael Penrose, Jeanette Burr and Thomas Deatsch; his great grandchildren, Justin, Haley, Lily and Apollo; and his siblings, Harold Baker (Shirley) of Fort Madison, Richard Baker (Jeanie) of Augusta, Iowa, Janet Levins (Mike) of West Burlington and Janice Alber Baker of Lomax. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
