He was predeceased by: his parents, Corby Kernodle and Laura Kernodle; his wife Sarah Barton; his siblings-in-law, Pete and Virginia Barton; and his siblings, Dronald and Lenore Kane.

He is survived by: his son Bart Kernodle (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Haley Kernodle and Colby Kernodle (Kaylee); his sister Versie Clements; and his friend Betty Robbins. He is also survived by nephews, nieces.
