He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory "Jack" Ransom and Lillie Ransom (Christopher); his former wife Imo Ransom (Phillips); his son Richard "Rick" Ransom; his daughter-in-law Barbara Ransom; and his siblings, Dorothy (Charles Weber), Delmar (Opal Ransom), Ellen (Ford Maness), Emery "Jack" (Norma Ransom), J. Raymond and Kenneth Ransom.

He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Ransom (Chandler) of Leasburg; his children, James Robert (Sonja Ransom) of Vancouver, Raymond "Neal" Ransom of Cuba, Debra Jeanette Ransom of Leasburg and Roger Matthew Ransom of Leasburg; his stepchildren, Megan (Josh Gargus) of Centralia, Joshua (Lacey Carl) of Rolla and Lindsey Carl (Doug Thomas) of Sullivan; his sister Gladys "Sally" (August Hartung) of Leasburg; and his foster sisters, Linda Bryan of Leasburg and Joy Friedman. He is also survived by five grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
