He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Granville and Sarah Lula Whittle (Brumley); his son Steven Guy Whittle; and his sisters, Marilyn Whittle and Louise Barnett.
He is survived by: his children, Bert (Diane Whittle), Gene (Julie Whittle) of Crocker and Donna (Tom Walters); his daughter-in-law Nina Smith (Gary); his grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Anissa, Butch, Daniel, Rebecca, Fawn, Dalton and Leslie; his siblings, Phillip Tannehill and Margie Geiger; and his sisters-in-law, Martha Lou Helton and Sheila Helton. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.
