The passing of Luvenia Valerie Smith (Columbia, Missouri) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on August 17, 2024 at the age of 89. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Jordan and Minnie Stewart Jordan; her grandson Tommy Wayne; and her son-in-law Tom Clements (Shadow). She is survived by: her spouse Carroll Smith; her grandchildren, Michael Barry Smith of Columbia, Dustin Smith, Devin of Olathe, KS, Jordan Smith, Courtney of St. Louis, Rachel Clements, Sara Clements, Eldredge, Andrew of Colorado Springs, Megan Wallace of Oskaloosa, Jeremy Plate and Vanessa of Oskaloosa, IA.; and her sisters, Joan Poe of Columbia and Martha Coleman of Columbia. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Compass Evangelical Free Church to support the Older Adult Tai Chi Classes which Lu and Carroll participated in for over many years and credit the class for keeping them young and active to this day or, to The Gideons for the distribution of Bibles.
