She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudi Peter and Josephine Peter (Schlereth); her daughter Elisabeth Gisela "Betty" Shaver; and her brother Hubert Schlereth. She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" Russell of Columbia; her daughter Carol Russell of Columbia; her grandchildren, Shawn Glore (Sharon) of Oketo, KS and Marita Karl of Columbia; her great grandchildren, Kayla and Thomas Glore; her siblings, Marita Coffmann (Bill) of Arizona and Sieglinde Bredow (Horst) of Germany; and her niece Gerlinde Solomon of Mississippi.
