He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Nyberg (Barnes) and Lloyd Nyberg; his stepson Jonathan Findley; his grandchildren, Michael Nyberg and Melissa Spiers; and his siblings, Morris Nyberg, Kenneth Nyberg, Lanora, Loyce and Mary Jo.
He is survived by: his wife Jonalyn Findley; his children, Jonathan L. Nyberg of Columbia, Susan Dumond of Webb City and Janet Spiers of Des Moines, Iowa; his stepchildren, Kelly Spainhour (Claude) and Andrea Runyon (Steve); his grandchildren, Ginny Andrews (Brad), Sarah Malcolm (Alex), Emma Sayers (Josh), Nicole Bryson and Richard Nyberg; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Baugher (Angie) and Norma Nyberg. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
He served as Director of the school until his retirement in 1989 and was able to see the fruits of his labor and contribution to the community for the rest of his life.
