He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde Homer Helphrey Sr. and Bessie Pauline Helphrey (Reed); his wife Virginia Fay Ferguson; his children, John E. Helphrey (Linda), Lynn H. Helphrey (Ruby), Melodie A. Benton (Randy) and Carman J. Rowan; his sister Marjorie Hunton; and his half-brother Clyde Leslie Helphrey. He was also cherished by 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
