She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis Carter and Amelia Carter; and her siblings, Lille Bell Manning, Lorine Smith, Charles, Bob, Tom and Claude Roberts.
She is survived by: her husband George Johnson; her children, Joyce Harris (Rodney) of Little Rock, AR, Harvey "Mickey" of Caruthersville, MO and Terry Tyus of Caruthersville, MO; her stepchildren, Karen Youngblood, Wendy Johnson and George Johnson, Jr.; and her nephew Carl Young. She is also survived by seven siblings.
During the global pandemic of 2020, the Pastor and members of 12th Street Baptist Church would often stop by and check on her and bring her communion.
