She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Thorn and Josephine "Sloniker" Thorn; her husband Bob Mitchell; her daughter Peggy Mitchell; and her siblings, Mary Smith, Violet Stark and Ervin Thorn.

She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Thomas of Carthage and Ginger Teed (Jonathan) of Sarcoxie; her siblings, Lily Tatum of Carthage, Sue Carr (Charles) of Joplin, Bernice Lynch (John) of Carthage and Elmer Thorn (Mary) of Carthage; her sister-in-law Cynthia Thorn of Carthage; her grandchildren, Joe Thomas (Heather) of Carthage, T. J, Teed (Missy) of Carthage and Katie Wommack (Nick) of Avilla; and her great grandchildren, Justin, Trenton, Jaxon, Emily, Abby, Merick, Kaitlyn, Lainey and Tyler. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
