He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth B. Wheat and Mabel Wheat (Hall); and his brother Walter Wheat (W. A.). He is survived by: his wife Elaine Spry; his children, Kathy Bowers (Darrell), Keith Wheat (Lisa) and Karen Wheat; and his sister Naydene Cunningham (Ivan). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the "Hospital Equipment Fund" at The Bridge (formerly 1st Christian Church) in Carthage or to Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri.
