It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jovonna Spurgeon of Canton, Missouri, born in Kirksville, Missouri, who passed away on February 13, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnnie Andy and Eva Lucille Gates Degard; and her spouse Jimmie Wayne Spurgeon (Hopsing). She is survived by: her daughter Leslie Hudnut (Michael Polak) of Williamstown, MO; her sister Nolajean Heisz of Goshen, IN; her granddaughters, Jaymi Hudnut (Derek Murphy) of Canton, MO and Delainey Hudnut of Williamstown, MO; her great grandchildren, Ava Hudnut and Eleanor "Nora" Murphy; her nephews, Garron Peacock (Brittany) and Austin Heisz (Vanessa); and her niece Lindsey VanDyke (Derek).
The family suggests memorials be made to Leslie Hudnut for the great granddaughters education fund which will be established at a later date.
