He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyrus Merl and Ruby Cumberland (Wright); his stepfathers, Cecil Bliven and Ben Thompson; and his stepson David Shannon Burton.
He is survived by: his wife Coleen; his children, Chris Cumberland, Kelli Pool (Jared) and Shantel Burton; his sisters, Carol Oster-Green and Iola Krause; his grandchildren, Meghan Sherry (Cole), Kasey Condeni, Nick Burton, Shayna Burton, Michelle Cumberland, Regan Pool and Nathan Pool; and his great grandchildren, Brayden, Liam, Maxwell, Koda, Calvin, Maia, Evelyn and Gentry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and Verl's extended family.
Memorials may be given to Comfort Care Hospice and/or The Cameron Veterans Home Assistance League.
