He was predeceased by: his wife Bette of Smithville; and his son Kenneth of Kansas City. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle (John); and his grandchildren, John Mann IV (Lindsey), Brittney Arreola (Jose), Samantha Mann, Luz Mann and Chris Wright (Sherri).

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Missouri Veterans Home of Cameron, Mo or City Union Mission.
