He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Sims (Johnny) of Greenville, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Allie Blalack, Brahms Sims, Craig Hanner and Makena Hanner; and his sister Debra Pyland of Blue Eye, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
