He was predeceased by: his son Peggy Sue Motley of Bowling Green; his grandchildren, Deanna Motley, John Curry and Jason Vonvain; and his siblings, Mary Preston, Lora Boots, Ernest Motley Sr., Raymond Motley, Elmer Motley, Howard Motley, Fred Bolton Sr., Clarence Motley, George W. Motley and Willie M. Motley.

He is survived by: his parents, George Fredrick and Dola Pearl Dixon Motley; his spouse Dorothy Mae Hammett; his children, Robert Fry Jr. of Hannibal, Paul W. Motley Sr. of Bowling Green, William Motley, Lora Vonvain (Mike) of Bowling Green, Debbie Liffick (Tom) of Bowling Green, Thelma Shy (Don) of Bowling Green, Donna Curry (Denny) of Curryville and Rita Liffick of Bowling Green; and his brothers, Roy Motley of Stockton and Ray Motley (Shirley) of Bowling Green. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 59 + one on the way great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
