He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Barham and Fleet Barham; his wife Florine Hopkins; his brother Max; and his grandsons, Troy Vahle and Benjamin Vahle.

He is survived by: his daughter Carolyn Wakefield (Richard); his grandsons, Vance Vahle (Jody) and Shannon Vahle (Madison); his great grandchildren, Payton, Madelynn, Finnegan and Sutton Vahle; his stepgranddaughters, Tammy Herbert (Mike) and Tracy Hillenburg (Tim); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Tony Herbert (Casey), C. J. Herbert (LeeAnne), Lacey Terry (Jeremy), Taylor Hillenburg and Ty Hillenburg (Ashton); his great great grandchildren, Layla Herbert, Tessa Herbert, Kayden Terry, Matilda Terry, Hayden Herbert and Waylon Hillenburg; and his sister Joan Simmons. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
