He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel and Eva (Metzger); his wife Lois Jean Barnhart (McWilliams); and his sister Elizabeth McGlothin. He is survived by: his children, Denise Barnhart (Ron Baker) of Cuba, Elaine Barnhart (Jim VanTilburgh) of St. James, Peggy Barnhart (Garry Goss) of Bedford, Ron Barnhart (Stacy Barnhart) of St. Paris and Joe Barnhart of Bland; his sisters, Donna Lang of New Carlisle, Lois (Joe Spahr) of Greenville, Shirley Ballentine of Springfield and Jeannie (Norman Trueblood) of New Carlisle; and his brother-in-law Harold McWilliams of Ocala.
