He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Charles and Helen Bowden (Lemons); his wife Kathy; his brother Keith; and his daughter-in-law Nancy.

He is survived by: his former wife Katherine Callaway; his children, David Bowden Birch Tree of Missouri and Katie Bowden; his grandchildren, Sarah Dailey (Dean), Kay Johnson (Greg) and Link Bowden (Erin); and his great grandchildren, Katherine Dailey and Gracie Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
