With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lawrence Derks of Belton, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on October 23, 2024 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lawrence Derks to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Eugene and Anna Mae Derks (Tiedemann); his daughter Teresa; and his grandchildren, Ashley Derks, Ashley Emanuel and Charlie Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Mae Hendrickson Fry; his children, Kurk Derks (Rose), Tamera Salsberry, Tonya Binga, Ed Derks and Tammie Emanuel (David); his grandchildren, James D., Nichole (Chris), Chamberlain, Dawn (Phil), James J. (Jewels), Payton, K'nea, Christy (Richard), Jennifer (David), Benjamin (Elaine), Abbigail (Devon), Allison, Sam, Rachel, Joshua and Jeremiah (Kati); and his siblings, Gerald Derks (Pat) and Patricia McConnell. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, church family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests. Donations be made to in Larry's name to Smile Train (helping children needing cleft surgery) and Compassus Hospice.
