He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin C. McCarty and Mildred M. McCarty (Stone); his siblings, David McCarty and Louise Leibold; and his nephew Dennis McCarty.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn McCarty (Martin); his children, Steve McCarty (Kathy) of Buffalo, MO, Patricia Serrato (John) of Independence, MO and Pamala Goff (Jim) of Oak Grove, MO; his siblings, Kathleen Jennings (Ronald) of Independence, MO and Charles McCarty (Laura) of Albuquerque, NM; and his stepchildren, Bob Onka of Bates City, MO, Deborah Thompson (Greg) of Bates City, MO, Bill Onka of Independence, MO and Diana Reicher (Barry) of Nixa, MO. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
