He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wurtz and Clara Wurtz; and his siblings, Warren Armbruster, Wilma Goetch, Delphia Santoyo, Raymond Armbruster, Clara Crawford and Eileen Meyers.

He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Wurtz; his sons, Kevin (Laura) and Doug Wurtz (Lisa); his grandchildren, Kelsey, Kara, Alexis, Nathan and Logan Wurtz; his stepgrandchildren, Megan Black and Skylar Ervin; and his great grandchildren, Jokobi, Blakely, Zealand and Lorna.

Memorial donations in George's Honor may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
