He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Schmidt and Evelyn Shields Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Jane Peters; his children, Chad Schmidt (Becky Limback) of Waverly and Amie Schmidt-Richardson (William) of Brunswick; his granddaughters, Addilynn Jane Richardson and Emery Elizabeth Richardson; and his brothers, Oscar Schmidt Jr. of Alma, Gale Schmidt of Waverly and Gary Schmidt of Excelsior Springs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
