He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Johnson and Alma Johnson (Gjemse); his children, Laurie Marie Johnson and Donald Arlyn Johnson; and his brother Duwayne Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Mardell Johnson of Zumbrota; his brother Marvin Johnson; his nephew David Johnson (Jess) of Boston, Massachusetts; his goddaughter Joni Gorman (Tom); and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Hoffman, Judy Ferguson, DiAnn Johnson (Lawrence), Carol Gjemse (LeRoy), Linda Durdahl, Vicki Otis, Phylis Johnson and Debi Stave. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
