He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Keeler Nelson and Sara Potter; and his siblings, George M. Nelson and Kathryn Nelson Allen. He is survived by: his wife Jane Bredberg Nelson; and his children, Cliff Nelson (Tracy Weidman), Emily Decker (David) and Paul Nelson (Gretchen). He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
