He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Schwartz and Catherine Schwartz (Evertz); his parents-in-law, Eugene and Catherine Damm; his siblings, Marcella Kain, Jerome Schwartz and Lorraine Brill; his son-in-law Fred Stroot; and his siblings-in-law, Orville Kain, Bob Brill, John Nyberg, Rich Politiske, Frank Kern, Dave Stigman, Earl Damm and Betty Schwartz.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Damm; his children, Karen Wells (Dave) of Alexandria, MN, Michael Schwartz of Wadena, MN, Gerald Schwartz of Pine River, MN, Kathy Weber (Paul) of Madison, MN, Diane Stroot of New York Mills, MN and Mary Jo Brockpahler (Mike) of Sebeka, MN; his sister Julie Karl (John) of Moorhead, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Elaine Nyberg, Irene Politiske, Marge Kern, Delores Stigman, Deb Wright (Doug) and Paula Damm. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
