He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Carlson and Anna Carlson (Busch); and his siblings, Earnest, Raymond, Herb, Della and Irene.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Carlson; his children, Carla VanDeWiele of Tracy, Susan Sperstad (David) of Little Falls, Michael Carlson (Darcy) of Garvin, James Carlson (Jennifer) of Waconia and John Carlson (Jodi) of Tracy; and his grandchildren, Angela Gannon (Terry), Mariah Ince (Russel), Andrew VanDeWiele, Kinbrae Sperstad, Greg (Kristina), Paul Carlson (Ally), Sam Willadsen, Jack, Emma Carlson, Daulton (Autumn Johnson) and Linkoln Carlson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and his many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our House Hospice of Murray County or a charity of the donor's choice.
