He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" and Anna Margareta "Greta" Eggers (Wieben); his adoptive father Nick Petersen; and his sister-in-law Arlys Petersen. He is survived by: his wife Loris Petersen; his children, Curtis Petersen, Bradley Berning (Lynn), Barbara Berg (Bruce) and Cyle Petersen (Lee); and his siblings, Gunther Petersen and Helen VanHouten (Leonard).
