He is survived by: his daughters, Mindy Kent of Burnsville and Sheila Lanners (Brian) of Kensington; his grandchildren, Darren Kent, Stephanie Stepan (Derek), Emily Melander (Brock), Karen Ribeiro (Carlos) and Sophi Lanners; his great grandchildren, Maxwell Stepan, Weslie Stepan, Beckett Stepan, Kail Melander, Leo Ribeiro and Noah Ribeiro; his stepsons, Tim Jenum (Sandy), Greg Jenum (Melanie) and Jeremy Jenum; his stepgrandchildren, Rolf, Karl, Ben, Matthew, Riley, Charlie, David and Erin Jenum; his brother Tom Bailey (Barb) of Burlington, IA; and his nieces and nephews, Pam Wright, Cheryl Francis, Amy Klinge, Jeff Bailey and Michael Klinge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Luther College Football, Minnewaska Athletic Hall of Fame or Holly Ridge Manor.
