He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Richert and Rose Richert (Riebl); his wife Ellen; and his brothers, Donny and Bob.
He is survived by: his children, James Richert (Carol) of Comfrey, Lauri Johnston (Tim) of St. Charles, Katie Romnes (Chris) of Hayward, WI and Molly Schuneman (Jason) of Coon Rapids; his grandchildren, Megan, Taylor, Paige, Hunter, Tommy and Mackenzie; his great grandchildren, Ellie and Milo; his siblings, Avona Bielen and Roland Richert (Lenore); and his siblings-in-law, Joan Richert, Carol Kemp (Roger), Andy Colburn (Jeanette) and Lyle Bestland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
