He was predeceased by: his wife Jacquelyn; his granddaughter Rebecca Fritzke; and his siblings, Harlan Blankenship, Vern Blankenship and Laurel Ganz.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Blankenship and Gina Fritzke (John); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Jon, Jamie Blankenship and Tony Fritzke; and his brother Howard Blankenship. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
