She was predeceased by: her parents, August Peterson and Christine Peterson; her husband George; her siblings, Roland Peterson, Vincent Peterson and Beatrice Peterson; her grandson Phillip Sassen; and her son-in-law Brad Kirschbaum.

She is survived by: her children, Larry Sassen (Cindy), Gary Sassen, Linda Forsythe (Bill) and Chris Johnson (Rick). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
