He was predeceased by: his parents, Folke Sward and Wilma Sward (Calstrom); his wife Lois Sward; and his close friend Rita Engeldinger. He is survived by: his sons, Kent Sward (Jodi) of Woodbury and Richard Sward (Edie) of Frontenac; his grandchildren, Kristine Zell (Jeff), Erik Sward (Heather), Laura Hafiz (Jordan), Nicole Sward, Jeana Sward (Tim Spears) and Jedrick Sward; his great grandchildren, Nova Spears, Mason, Lila Zell, Shay, Braeton and Lindyn Sward; his brother Curtis Sward (Lanie); his niece Ani; his stepgrandsons, Bryan Grimley (Brittany), Matthew Grimley (Maria) and Elliot Grimley (Emily); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Charlotte, Walter and Hendrix Grimley; his friend Amy Ferrin (John); and also, Taylor and Taryn.
