He was predeceased by: his parents, George T. Carstensen and Leona L. Carstensen (Eggers); his wife Sandy; and his siblings, Nyla Prinsen (Elmer) and George "Tom" Carstensen (Doris).
He is survived by: his children, Scot Carstensen (Glenda) of Pipestone, Patti Carstensen (Mike Schadendorf) of Waseca, Mark Carstensen (Collette) of Deer River and Todd Carstensen (Lori) of George, Iowa; his brother Charles Carstensen (Janet) of Rochester, Minnesota; his parents-in-law, Arley and Vila Bucher; and his sister-in-law Janice Frey (Jim). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren.
