He was predeceased by: his wife Jayne; his parents, Thomas and Helen; and his siblings, Bill, Tom, Sis, Colleen, Kathryn and Michael.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Beth Gorrell (Ron), Sheila Long (Dan), Steve (Kareen), Anne Moore and Tom; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew), Andrew, Laura (Jesse), Joe (Rachel), Molly (David), Amy, Kelly (Brian), Jack and Matthew; and his siblings, Leo, Dorothy and Helen. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
