He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Fransen and Linnea Fransen (Johnson); and his brothers, Lorin and Roger. He is survived by: his uncle Einar; his wife Dean; his children, Chris Howe (Don), Mary Rice (Andy), John Fransen, Jr. (Renee) and Annie Fransen; his grandchildren, Emilee Howe (Josh), Megan Howe, Linnea Rice-Epsky, Erin Pinch (Jacob), Travis Fransen (Paige), Justin Fransen and Matthew Fransen; his great grandchildren, Lilly Epsky and Quinn Epsky; and his brother Gene Fransen (Betty). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca.
