She was predeceased by: her parents, Sebastian Gillen and Cecilia Gillen (Wagner); her husband Bernard Heim (Bernie); her siblings, Joanne Cortese (Jim) and Adrian Gillen; her son-in-law Carl Johnston; and her parents-in-law, John, Florence Gillen, Ambrose, Ruth Gillen, Greg, Varian Gillen, Ed, Barbara, Josephine Gillen, Joe, Lorraine Gillen, Ann, Alexius Thissen, Rita, William Franke and Jeanne Gillen.
She is survived by: her children, Lois Nelson (David), Elaine Johnston, Philip Heim (Gail), Lloyd Heim, Rosemary Heim, Christine Heim, Patrick Heim (Tracy), Cynthia Smith (Richard) and Jeannette Malterer (Randy); and her son-in-law Robert Racek. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Faribault and Mayo Hospice in memory of Luella.
