It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Cooksley in Luverne, Minnesota, who passed away on February 1, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Cooksley and Wilhelmiene Cooksley (Koll); and his siblings, Frank, Joseph, Richard, Robert, James, Danny, Mary Birkeland, Ruth Peterson and Lois Van Hove.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah "Sally" Keay of Luverne; his daughters, Dixie Aanenson (Alan) of Luverne and Tammy Smeins (Dave) of Luverne; his grandchildren, Michael Aanenson (Meghan), Rebecca Banck (Tim), David Smeins (Brittany), Dana Klay (Josh), Dustin Smeins (Dawn), Darcy Smeins (Garret Beaner) and Diana Smeins (Nick Mark); his great grandchildren, Tucker, Anna, Brady, Zoey, Hailey, Jaiden, Annie Jo, Charlie, Cade, Ellie, Jase, Dawson, Oliver, Arthur and Gracie; and his friend Charlie Carter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Chuck died February 1, 2021, at the age of 87 years and 16 days, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from complications of COVID-19.
