He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stier and Alma Stier (Schmidt); his wife Marvalla Schultz; his sons, Gary and Kevin; and his sisters, Marilyn Koepp and Evonne Otto.
He is survived by: his sons, Gene Stier (Diane) of Hamburg and Ernie Stier (Liz) of North Mankato; and his grandchildren, Tara Petersen (Aaron), Andrew Stier (Carissa), Adam Stier (Griffie Jess), Michael Stier (Amanda Rindal) and Clair Schrot (Nate). He is also survived by 6 Great Grandchildren.
