He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Engelhart and Tena Engelhart (Halverson); and his siblings, Ferd (Violet), Lowell, Bernie, Gerald (Marian), Verna Arneson (Arne), Lois Rogers, Murial Benson and Fern Trulson (Lawrence).
He is survived by: his sister Gloria Kanis; his sons, Scott (Lori) of Holmen, Jay (Barb) of LaCrosse and Todd (Melissa) of LaCrosse; his stepchildren, Dan (Linda) of LaCrescent, Judy Luebke (Karl) of Sheboygan and Ann Bloomfield (Patrick) of Maple Grove, MN.; and his grandchildren, Wyatt, Jesse Engelhart, Ryan Hall, Lindsey Webinger, Adam Smith, Kendra Kooistra, Sarah Hizon, Joseph Luebke, Cindy Bloomfield Garstea and Kerry Bloomfield. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
