He was predeceased by: his parents, John Houser and Sarah Houser (Halverson); his stepchildren, Dawn Purcell, Russell Treangen and Bruce Treangen; his son-in-law Robert Boisclair; and his siblings, Henry Houser (Lilah), Hazel Houser, Celia Hauser, Gilbert "Gib" Houser, Julius Houser, Pearl Houser, Paul Houser (Ruth), Salvina "Toots" Schwabach (Mark "Butch"), Sylvan Houser, Kys Houser (Hildegard) and Birdie Hanson (Charles).
He is survived by: his wife Jessie Houser (Treangen); his daughters, Toni Frey (Robert), Kathy Coffman and Lori Boisclair; his stepchildren, Byron Treangen (Sharlyn) and Terry Treangen (Kay); his grandchildren, Sarah Kammes (Jamie), Jeremy Frey (Erin), David Coffman (Misty) and Eric Coffman; and also Debbie Treangen. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
